Boy Scout of the Philippines
Eastern Visayas Region
It's the 41st day of my ICS Volunteering Journey. We are going to check and visit the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) Regional Office for Visayas in Cebu City to be our camp venue on May 1-3, 2013. Its just a month preparation so we have to book it ahead so as to reserve it.

A Bit Lengthy Travel. From GVSP, we took a jeepney going to Lahug near the JY Square Mall to meet Mike and Denven (Our co-ICS Volunteer) at McDonalds. Since no jeepneys are going to the BSP office, we took a taxi going up high the mountains. It's my first time to visit here. I never really had any interest in joining Boy Scouts when I was young.

Green Camping Site. There are many trees surrounding the area and the very clean and sweet breeze of air cools the skin and will truly energize you. I may not be a fan of Boy Scouts but I love trekking into the mountains. It gives me the feeling of becoming one with nature and it allows me to reflect deeper into myself.

Inquiries. We went into the office to send our letter to Camp Manager Mr. Salvio Quicho. He is very accommodating and welcoming. We inquired about how much the stay for the dormitory, using the swimming pool and other logistical needs. We went to the other building to see the facilities that can be used.

Its a short walk from the gate to the office
where we found the Camp Manager.
Their dormitory can accommodate around 100 persons and there are separate rooms for boys and girls. They also have session and dining room, kitchen area, and also, a bonfire area.

Their dormitory has  beds which ranges from 100-150 pesos
per head, per day
The cost for using the facilities on a daily basis would be:
Camping Site - 50/person ( Bring your own tent)
Dormitory - 100/person (w/o Beddings) or 150/person with beddings
Session Area - 1,000/day *Discounted
Swimming Pool - 40/day *Discounted

*Note: Regular use of Session Area is P1,500 and Swimming Pool is P40.00

We bid farewell to Sir Salvio and requested to have our schedule for May 1-3 reserved. We left saying we will be back after holy week to bring our down payment and finalize the booking.

Although we have checked the venue for the camp, there are still a lot of things to look after - all I know is that - God is in control. :)
