Break the Silence!
Its the 66th day of my ICS Volunteering journey. It was raining around 2 AM today and we needed to be in Ayala as early as possible to prepare for the Break the Silence Fun Run. My counterpart and I were a bit late and everyone was really busy preparing the venue.
Stage at the Ayala Terraces, Cebu City
We prepared the chairs facing the stage and set up the CAD booth where we plan to advertise our upcoming activities. We set up the display for the "A Card for A Cause" and hopefully with the crowd coming, we can sell a lot.

Are the runners ready?

There were around 1,200 participants from 4K , 8K , 16K and 4K PWD category. It was very motivating to see the first PWD friendly run in Cebu City. The fun run isn't just about raising awareness about Deaf child sexual abuse but also about accessibility and participation of PWDs.

Tita Gina, with her family. Joined the fun run and bought 6 cards
from A Card for A Cause
After the run, I started to share "A Card for A Cause". Tita Gina who lives in USA now joined the fun run. She came with her family and also ate Jingkay who is my mentor and friend from Mindanao just to take part of the cause. They bought 6 cards to support CAD for our upcoming camp on May 1-3, 2013.

Team Photo?
After the event, we had a group photo celebrating its success. The participants became Deaf aware and we were able to raise funds for the programs of GVSP.
