Our host family. From Left to Right. Me,
Jam-jam, tita Emma, Ja-ja and Isabelle
We cooked some vegetarian pasta for the Host Home Day (HHD). The Socials Committee is organizing it to give an avenue for our host family to be more involved in the program by relating with other host families and sharing to them what the International Citizen Service(ICS) Volunteers are doing.

Host families gathering like in a picnic

We started half past twelve and had lunch together. We held it at the Gualandi Service Programme's (GVSP) office where outside has a very cool and grassy front area which seemingly became a picnic for everyone.

We brought with us our four host home children Kingston, Christian, Jaja and Jam-jam. Tita Emma, ate Gloria and Aileen came with us also.

After lunch, we introduced our host families as well as the volunteer placements supervisors. The host homes were very happy to have met them. Next, the ICS volunteers introduced our work placements from the Fully Abled Nation to the Cebu Association of the Deaf.

Host families are considered as one of the most important part of this program. It allows the volunteers to gain a deeper cross cultural understanding of the Filipino Culture.
