Day 28:Checklist and English Lessons

Thursday, March 14, 2013

Hilton, a volunteer Interpreter during our ICS  Training visited us Gualandi Volunteer Service Program (GVSP). His sister is taking an English Exam in Cebu so he decided to stop by and check on us. Its about 20 days since the last time we saw him.  He is indeed one of the most important persons in my ICS Journey.

I continued making the power point presentation which included 4 topics for the Leadership Training Seminar this weekend. It's a really tough day indeed and we had a run down of what we have to accomplish by Friday that included printing of handouts and other materials.

for tomorrow.
After preparing the checklist, Mike ( a British Volunteer), assessed the English proficiency of our deaf co-volunteers to help them with their skills in writing. It was suggested by the previous cycle to have English tutorials to the deaf community and in return they help us learn the sign language. Mike is very passionate about this program and he is a very inspiring man to work with.

ICS is all about sharing. In the end, what you share is what you gain.
