Day 11: Barbecue Night Out

Its day 11 of my ICS Volunteering Journey. Its definitely a rest day for all of us. I woke up late this morning then in the afternoon , we had some FSL lessons with my counterpart Isabelle at Starbucks, Ayala Mall in Cebu City.

I am feeling a little sick so I went home and took some rest. Our co-volunteers text us an invitation going to Larsian for a barbecue night out together. The meeting place will be at the I.T. Park which is just a walking distance to where we currently stay. Almost all of us were present, except for the two of our co-volunteers who were informed late and they were also a bit tired to go.

Larsian. The place reminded me of the market area in Brunei where they also have an all grilled foods area. It's the first time for the British volunteers to have a taste of isaw or chicken intestines. Our Deaf friends usually come here to eat and they already have a suki. 

Tree in a Pot. After dinner, I met a man selling potted plants. I bought a tree in a pot which cost P100.00. It's like a bonsai plant and the seller said it's already 3 years old. Taking care of this plant is also a way to relieve some of the negative stresses I might encounter in the program. I really hope that this plant survives.

Just a Little Drink. Later, we meet the cousins of my co-volunteer and they invited some of us for a drink. We went into a bar near I.T. Park and ordered some beer. There were only three of us and I so I decided to have a little drink with them. I have never been drunk my whole life and I always try to avoid alcohol as much as I could. 

Rest for today, and , Fight tomorrow.

A lot of things happened today and it's a bit exhausting. Maybe a good rest doesn't mean you always go out and have fun with friends. Sometimes, it may mean a lot more of going into bed, say a little pray and take a long nap. :)
