Later today, we joined the Philippines-Australia Community Assistance Program (PACAP) Website Launching that was held in QUEST Hotel. PACAP aims to build vibrant communities and has been present in the Philippines after the Martial Law to aid countries in rebuilding after a crisis.
It was attended by different organizations and former recipients of the grant to showcase what they have achieved because of the support that was extended to them.
In Visayas region, they featured Mt. Lantoy in Cebu that had problems with food security and water system. Also, in Aklan, livelihood was sustained because of the skills development for weaving that leads to employment.
In other parts of the country, it supported REACH foundation which aids the Children with Special Needs by Capacitating the Barangay Health Workers. They are also currently having a project called "Kitchen Specials for the Youth" where they do baking and allow persons with special needs to earn.
There is a lot of learning experience in the program. In the future I want to work in the Development Sector. After ICS, I still don't know whether I will continue my application as a teacher in our city public high school. But, for sure, I will do my best to help others and help myself in the process.
