Day 2: Wandering the City

It's my fourth time to be in Cebu City so I really don't know much about the place. Since my supervisor told me that today is free day, I went to a tour around the area so I can become more familiar with their public transport. I also wanted to check a place to have my laptop and digital camera checked for some repairs.

Meals were served as part of the accommodation so I needed to go back for lunch. I explored JY ( A Mall nearby) but I couldn't find any servicing that made me decide to try SM which is a ride away. Later, I found one but is very expensive and I needed to keep some money for emergencies ( while I'm in the program).

Strolling around SM was very tiring so I bought some burgers in Jollibee and thought of alternatives where I could possibly have the equipment back to its condition. Going to Gaisano Metro is also just an P8.00 jeepney ride so I just pushed through my search in Colon (the business part on Cebu). Gaisano Metro isn't a big mall after all and there is not much to buy in it. I went out and look for other establishments and finally found one just a block away.

I paid P500.00 for the laptop reprogramming and it saved my photos and very important files from the previous engagements I had. I went back to the retreat house, took my lunch and have some rest. I also sent an sms to my younger friend ( she's like my sister) that I would like to meet her in SM in the afternoon. She said they will be doing something so we had to change the plan and 6:00 PM we will be seeing each other.

The day ended having me seeing her for about 5 Minutes and then I had to leave immediately so I could reach before the curfew. Cebu City has a very good public transport system. I find everyone I ask courteous and even tell you how to navigate using the jeepneys. 3 Months and surely I will be more familiar with this place. Volunteering may make me wander on a lot of things but surely in the end, I will discover a lot of wonders. :D
